This past weekend was a time for family and fun as we celebrated our mom's birthday at one of her favorite places, Hilton Head Island, SC. It was a sweet time to share together and we soaked up every moment of it that we could!
We love shooting in downtown Raleigh so when Jacob told us he wanted his senior photos downtown we were game! Jacob was the first guy we've done senior photos for and we all know how much most guys love taking pictures, so we were a little curious about how the session would go. After a weekend filled with family sessions, full of little ones, it was a nice break to actually have someone who can listen, sit still, and smile on que! Now don't get me wrong, we love our families and kiddos, but it truly was a treat hanging out with Jacob! Congratulations, Jacob, on your upcoming graduation! We wish you all the best!
As if we weren't already excited to get to shoot Chris and Courtney's wedding this coming weekend, after meeting them at the beautiful Childress Vineyards for their engagement portraits, excited is now an understatement. With the time change, our next visit there will be in the dark so we definitely wanted to capture some images of them on this beautiful property before then! I have known Courtney since college, when we were both interns at NBC17. I guess working at a TV station will bring people together because we have been friends ever since! When Courtney started dating Chris, I was so happy for her, and so were my boys because Chris is a golfer and we have gotten to go watch him play at tournaments here in Raleigh and they always seem to walk away with a golf ball!
It was a beautiful autumn afternoon at the vineyard and we had a great time with Chris and Courtney. We even made Courtney a little late to the Taylor Swift Concert she was heading to that night (sorry..not sorry!), because the lighting was beautiful and Paige just couldn't put the camera down!
There is nothing quite like a family session! The rule book goes out the window and you just go with the flow.... or the toddler! The Wofford's have 3 amazing children and to be able to spend the afternoon at their house playing with the kids and capturing moments with their family was awesome. Eli and Katie are great older siblings and you can already tell how much Liza wants to be able to keep up with them. The entire family is so sweet and shooting at their home is one of our favorite locations. For Liza's newborn session we mainly stayed inside, but it was a beautiful Autumn afternoon this time so we played outside and loved it!
We got to spend a gorgeous Sunday afternoon with Jade and Travis on their family property in Raleigh. Jade and Travis recently celebrated their first anniversary and were excited to capture some photos of the season they now find themselves in. Decorating their adorable home, hanging out with their awesome dog, Boone, and enjoying the beautiful property they live on! Travis' was a great sport in all we asked him to do and Jade is beautiful both inside and out so we took advantage of clients that can sit still for more than 2 seconds! With most of our shoots being with our lovely families, it's always a treat when we are not having to sing and dance the whole time to get their attention. Travis only required a song or two (wink, wink)! Travis and Jade, you guys are great! Thanks so much for allowing us to capture these photos for you!
My best friend got married!!! Let me say it again...MY BEST FRIEND GOT MARRIED!! Ashley and I have been best friends since the 6th grade when we both moved to NC from Florida. Middle School isn't fun for anyone, but especially when you're new to a very small town and don't know anyone so Ashley and I became fast friends. We have always talked about our husbands, weddings and future lives and to get to be there for her big day was beyond amazing! The best part was I got to just be a part of it as a bridesmaid while Paige was a one man band getting all the pictures! The wedding was in Aiken, SC at the beautiful, historic Willcox Hotel . Even though we were there during the historic South Carolina flooding, the rain held off enough that day for us to get to have the outdoor ceremony she had always dreamed of. The wedding was perfect, she was beautiful, and it was a truly magical evening! Congratulations Tanner and Ashley!
Y'all can I tell you how much we love this family! We have been so blessed to capture photos for them during two pregnancies and two newborn shoots and they have always been amazing! The Pittman's have two adorable boys, Drake & Zach, and now a sweet baby girl, Capri. After overcoming some dreaded Hand Foot and Mouth that poor Zachary had to push through, we were able to capture some sweet memories of this family and their newborn baby girl! Zachary was amazing, Drake was the sweet big brother he always is and they were both so cute with baby Capri. Everyone says "they grow up fast", but you never really realize it until you watch it before your own eyes. It has been a blessing watching the Pittman family grow and a reminder to us of why getting to capture moments and preserve memories is some of our favorite parts of what we do!
Going to the airport observation deck has become a Wilkin's family favorite! The weather was beautiful on one of daddy's days off so we decided to take advantage of such a lovely day! We grabbed some lunch and headed out to the observation deck. The boys had a great time watching the planes land and take off while we explored the park and ate our picnic lunch!
We love when we get to work with repeat clients. It seems like yesterday we were meeting with Chris, Stephanie and sweet Audrey for Audrey's newborn photos. It was such a treat to meet with them just under a year later to capture this growing family as they celebrate Audrey's first birthday. This sweet girl has grown into quite the adorable baby and we were treated to an afternoon of gorgeous weather as we explored downtown Wake Forest capturing photos of the entire Sellek Family!

We love the Pittman's! We first met the Pittman's 19 months ago when we did a maternity/family session with them when they were pregnant with their 2nd son Zach. After that we got to see them a few months later for a newborn session when Zach was born. Fast-forward to the present and we got to see them again for another maternity/family session. This time for their 3rd child and first daughter! We had a lot of fun with them the morning of the session. It was a beautiful summer morning, but the boys came with monster trucks in hand and when monster trucks are in hand you know it's going to be a good time! The boys were adorable as always, Nina was beautiful and dad was a proud papa!
We don't often do weddings, but when we do, we're thankful for weddings like Shannon and Tucker's. It was a hot July afternoon and even though the reception was outside, it was the perfect day for a wedding. The excitement everyone had for this couple was so evident. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was a great time of celebrating the bride and groom! Congratulations, Shannon and Tucker, thank you for letting us be part of your special day!
While traveling with the 12x12 Initiative I was able to connect with Chris and Carly of Hand Lettering Co in San Diego, CA. This awesome couple is doing incredible work that is both beautiful and encouraging! Though my visit with them was short, I am glad to call them friends and truly enjoyed being able to collaborate with them on one of their prints.

We met with Shannon on one of the many hot days this summer has offered - that being said, no heat was going to put a damper on this beautiful bride-to-be! Bridal portraits are always a lot of fun, because what girl doesn't love playing dress up in the most beautiful dress she will ever wear. Shannon was beautiful and she wore her dress so well! The excitement in her eyes, thinking to the day she would wear that dress for her soon to be husband, was so easy to capture in each and every shot. We had so much fun during her shoot, but nothing compared to the fun we had at the wedding - pictures to come!
